Character Design
Here is a collection of smaller projects that started as illustrations.

Having previously worked with Dom – the founder of Salt Bakehouse, it was a pleasure to be asked to create a character for his new venture. It was important for the illustration to be clearly definable and fun, and ‘The Salt Baker’ pizza slice was born. Utilising the colour palette of Italy and the checkerboard design often associated with Pizza diner’s, I created a complimentary aesthetic, solidifying the whole illustration. Having had a life-long appreciation for rubber hose cartoons, Bringing the slice to life with clean, vintage imagery really allowed me to bring this character to life.

Winstones Ice Cream is an iconic business local to me, with its reputation and quality leading to a feature on The Hairy Biker’s. They approached me and asked me to immortalise their famous ‘Vinnie’ the vintage ice cream van into an illustration. I vectorised real images of the van to create a true to life illustration then applied a fun, engaging and dynamic design to really elevate the imagery. Following the success of ‘Vinnie’ I recently designed a special 100-year anniversary illustration. Again, I was able to use real imagery of the founder of Winstone’s to produce a truly special celebratory design.

Hudson Rose is a modern, innovative, and no-nonsense Mortgage advisor, who take pride in their fun, engaging and personable approach. So, when they approached me to ask me to design them a character, I immediately knew I could have fun with the design, particularly the colour palette. The House Illustration really works with the brand identity, showcasing exactly what Hudson Rose is about.
